After your operation
If you are having day surgery then you will be discharged from hospital after leaving the recovery area. The hospital will call your contact person to pick you up so please ensure these details are up to date and you have someone to available to pick you up.
If you have inpatient surgery you generally stay 1-2 days but this can vary depending on your surgery, progress and post-operative pain.
After surgery a level of post-operative pain is expected but we bring it down to a level that is manageable. Our team work together with your anaesthetist to optimise your comfort levels using pain relief and limb positioning.
Depending on your surgery you may require physiotherapy prior to discharge. The physiotherapist will see you and discuss restrictions and post-operative rehabilitation sessions as required.
Our practice staffs are available to answer any unaddressed concerns after your surgery. Please contact us if you have questions or concerns related to your postoperative condition.
