Dr Chandrananth does not charge an out of pocket cost for Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) Gold Card Holders or those with a valid WorkCover or TAC claim.
Consultation fees are required to be paid on the day of your appointment. We accept credit card payments, EFTPOS and cash (AMEX and Diners cards are not accepted).
Surgical Fees
Dr Chandrananth engages with the 'known gap' scheme for most Health Insurance companies (HCF, BUPA, Medibank Private) meaning your out-of-pocket fee for your surgery is approximately $500.
However, all insurers are not created equally and so for some providers (such as NIB, GMHBA, Latrobe Health) the fee is worked out on a case-by-case basis to ensure it is inline with the other major insurers and this is often more than $500. This is because these insurers reduce their fees by increasing your excess - much like how your car premiums are calculated.
All accounts will be submitted directly to your insurer and we will provide you with a financial consent outlining these fees at the time of your appointment. You will need to pay the gap 7 days prior to your surgery.
Anaesthetic Fee
Your anaesthetist may also charge a small fee and they will inform you of the details in advance. This often depends on the duration and complexity of your procedure.
Hospital Fee
The hospital costs will be covered by your private health insurance, but you may have to pay an excess depending on your insurance.
